Christmas Lights in Snug Harbor Estates

Earlier this month, I took a drive (okay 6 drives) through the Snug Harbor Estates neighborhood in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. It is beautiful!!!

Here's my commentary...

The old oak trees are unbelievable! Floridians are usually lazy about wrapping the branches up high...not in this neighborhood. The dripping meteor lights are everywhere. Right now, they are $79 per strand (of 5 lights). I can't imagine how much they have invested in these lights alone. I love it.

The end of the street has a wonderful toy factory wireframe. The assembly line has animated presents travelling along a conveyer (sp) belt.

Even up in the trees, they have giant candy canes.

I have admired the icicle edges at Abacoa for a while...this house has the same type of lights...I think I'm going to build my own for next year since my 2011 display was "supposed" to have them.

I really liked the red/white striped trees.

Although LEDs have a higher initial cost, they last years longer than traditional lights and offer long-term energy savings. In fact, the U.S. Department of Energy estimates that the adoption of LED lighting throughout the nation can deliver savings of $265 billion and reduce electricity demand by 33 percent in 2027.

This is beautiful. But how much in average American family spend for Christmas decoration (including electricity)? I know a lot of people are switching to artificial Christmas trees in order to save the planet.
